The offence is alleged to have occurred on April 16th and 17th, 2024, in Kilimani, Nairobi, with accomplices and with the intent to defraud.

His request for a cash bail of Sh 100,000 was denied, and instead, he was granted a bond of Sh 2 million, requiring one surety of a similar amount.

The court also provided him with the option of a cash bail of Sh 1 million and the requirement to produce two contact persons.

He defrauded Mnguni Mbulelo Ludger, the gold buyer, by falsely claiming he could sell 500 kilograms of gold nuggets valued at Sh 6,750,000.

He was further charged with obtaining Sh 6.7 million from Mbulelo by pretending that he was in a position to sell him 500 kg of gold nuggets, knowing it was false, and with the intent to deceive.

Musilwa was released on either a bond of Sh 2 million or a cash bail of Sh 1 million.

The mention date for pre-trial proceedings is set for May 7th.
